Ecole St. Mary is situated in the heart of Lethbridge, Alberta, and is part of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division. It is a dual-track school offering instruction in French Immersion and English to approximately 400 wonderful students from Kindergarten through to Grade 6. Early Learning Program (Pre-kindergarten) is also offered in both languages.
The school building, built in 1951 and renovated in 2007, is adjacent to St. Francis Junior High School and Catholic Central High School. This is convenient for families who have children at more than one level, as older students frequently come to escort their younger siblings to and from school and ride together on the school buses.
We are a multi-cultural community, with approximately 100 First Nations' students and no fewer than 35 ethnic backgrounds from all around the world. This striking variety helps to create cultural awareness and an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding among our students.
Our staff is made up of more than 50 exceptionally caring individuals, dedicated to the total well-being of each one of our students. Teachers and support staff members alike are sensitive to the needs of the children, and work hard to see that they are met.
